The Indian diaspora across the world are brand ambassadors for the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday as he lauded their contribution.
Addressing the Indian diaspora during an impressive event at the Audi Dome indoor arena in Munich, Germany, he highlighted India’s growth story and mentioned various initiatives undertaken by the government to further achieve the country’s development agenda.
Prime Minister Modi also lauded the contribution of the diaspora in promoting India’s success story and acting as brand ambassadors of India’s success.
"The Indian Diaspora across the world are not only India's success story but are also Rashtra Doots (India's ambassadors) who are taking India to the world and becoming brand ambassadors for the success of the nation," he said.
According to Prime Minister Modi, India is setting its new identity and cornerstone of development. He also referred to India's successful Covid-19 vaccination campaign.
PM Modi arrived in Munich on Sunday on a two-day visit to attend the G7 summit being hosted by Germany.
There are approximately 1.70 lakh Indians and persons of Indian origin living in Germany. The majority of them are professionals, technocrats, businesspeople, nurses, and students.
India and Germany have shared a "Strategic Partnership" since May 2000.
Given the strength of the bilateral relationships and Germany's significant influence inside the European Union, Germany is one of India's most significant partners in Europe.
