MoS External Affairs V Muraleedharan is on a three-day visit to Qatar

Minister of State (MoS) for External Affairs V Muraleedharan has urged Indian businesspersons to leverage India’s strengths to expand the India-Qatar economic partnership.

He was speaking with them at an interaction on Monday during his visit to Qatar.

"Useful interaction with Indian businessmen and Indian Business and Professionals Council (IBPC) in Qatar.

Urged them to leverage India’s strengths to expand India-Qatar economic partnership," he tweeted.

MoS Muraleedharan earlier interacted with members of the Indian community and appreciated the important role that the diaspora plays.

MoS Muraleedharan also met with representatives of the Indian Cultural Centre, the Indian Community Benevolent Forum & other organisations.

Taking to Twitter, he said he was "Pleased to hear about their activities to foster stronger cultural relations, supporting Indian workers and celebrating #AzadiKaAmritMahotsav".

There are over 700,000 Indian nationals in Qatar and they constitute the single largest expatriate community in the country.

He also visited the National Museum of Qatar.

"Had a glimpse of Qatar’s cultural heritage at the National Museum of Qatar.

Cultural and people to people exchanges between India and Gulf throughout history provide a strong foundation and create comfort for our continued cooperation in modern times," MoS Muraleedharan tweeted.

The Minister of State, who is on a
three-day maiden visit to Qatar, had met State Minister for Foreign Affairs Soltan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi in Doha on Sunday.

The two had discussed issues related to energy, trade, investment, education, P2P contacts & diaspora welfare.
