President Ram Nath Kovind will be in Jamaica from May 15 -18
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar spoke with Jamaican Foreign Minister Kamina J Smith on Monday ahead of President Ram Nath Kovind's visit to the country.
The two discussed preparations for President Kovind's visit. The Jamaican Foreign Minister also apprised EAM Jaishankar about her candidature for the Commonwealth Secretary General's post.
A decision on the appointment of a Secretary-General is expected to be made during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Kigali, Rwanda from June 20-25.

President Kovind will be in Jamaica from May 15 -18 and hold delegation level talks with his counterpart, Governor General Sir Patrick Allen.
According to the MEA, he will also meet Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness and other dignitaries besides addressing the Joint Sitting of the two Houses of Jamaican Parliament.
Jamaica and India have friendly relations. Jamaica has a 70,000 strong Indian diaspora, who act as a living bridge with India.
