Active cases account for 1.09 percent of the country’s total positive cases-- the lowest since March 2020

India’s Covid-19 recovery rate has increased to 97.57 percent, the highest since the beginning of the pandemic in March last year. So far a total of 3,16,36,469 people have recovered from the virus. In the last 24 hours, 38,487 people recovered from the Covid-19 triggered disease.

The number of new cases registered in the last 24 hours was only 30,948. The country’s active caseload is the lowest in 152 days at 3,53,398.

Active cases account for 1.09 percent of the country’s total positive cases, which is the lowest since March 2020.

“Sustained and collaborative efforts by the Centre and the States/UTs continue the trend of less than 50,000 Daily New Cases that is being reported for fifty-five consecutive days now,” the Health Ministry had said earlier.

On another front, the recovery of 38,487 in the past 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) to 3,16,36,469.

India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has surpassed the cumulative figure of 58.14 Cr so far under the National Vaccination Drive.

“The Union Government is committed to accelerating the pace and expanding the scope of COVID-19 vaccination throughout the country.

Moreover, the testing capacity across the country continues to be expanded. India has so far conducted over 50.62 Cr tests.

While testing capacity has been enhanced across the country, the weekly Positivity Rate at 2% remains less than 3% for the last 58 days now. The Daily Positivity rate also stands at 1.95%. The daily positivity rate has remained below 3% for the last 26 days and below 5% for 75 consecutive days now.
