India’s daily recoveries continued to outnumber the daily new cases for the 18th consecutive day

India has reported it's lowest daily new cases in the last 50 days.

With 1,52,734 cases being registered in the last 24 hours, the country has recorded less than 2 lakh daily new cases for four continuous days now.

Releasing the latest data on Monday morning, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said the steady decline in the active caseload also continues.

India's active caseload has now decreased to 20,26,092, which is a net decline of 88,416 in the last 24 hours. The active cases are now only 7.22% of the country's total positive cases, the health ministry said.

Meanwhile, India’s daily recoveries continued to outnumber the daily new cases for the 18th consecutive day.

According to the official data, 2,38,022 recoveries were registered in the last 24 hours. This figure was 85,288 more as compared to the daily new cases.

Giving an overview, the ministry pointed out that out of the people infected since beginning of the pandemic, 2,56,92,342 people have already recovered from COVID-19. This constitutes an overall recovery rate of 91.60%.

A total of 16,83,135 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours in the country, taking the cumulative number to 34.48 crore tests so far.

With a continued decline, the Weekly Positivity Rate is currently at 9.04%; the Daily Positivity rate has also reduced and is at 9.07% today. It has remained less than 10% for seven consecutive days now, the health ministry pointed out.

On the vaccination front, the cumulative number of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered in the country has now exceeded 21.31 crore (213.1.million).

A total of 21,31,54,129 vaccine doses have been administered through 30,28,295 sessions, as per the provisional report till 7 am on Monday morning.
