The two sides also discussed various regional and international topics of mutual importance
During the 4th round of Foreign Office Consultations on Monday, India and Venezuela discussed a wide range of topics related to their bilateral ties, including politics, commerce, energy, health and pharmaceuticals, Ayurveda and Yoga, agriculture, culture, science, and technology.
The two sides also discussed various regional and international topics of mutual importance during the consultations held in Caracas, Venezuela, according to information released by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
Secretary (East) MEA Saurabh Kumar headed the Indian delegation while Vice Minister for Asia, the Middle East, and Oceania Capaya Rodriguez Gonzales headed the Venezuelan delegation.
Later, Secretary (East) also called on Venezuela's Foreign Minister Carlos Rafael Faria Tortosa and exchanged views on India’s investments in oil sector and ways to further enhance bilateral ties, the MEA said.
It was decided that the next round of talks would take place in New Delhi on a day that would work for both parties.
The relationship between India and Venezuela has traditionally been friendly, and both countries share similar perspectives on important global, political, and economic issues. Along with actively fostering bilateral ties, the two nations also collaborate in various multilateral forums.
Aside from this, Venezuelans are very interested in and appreciative of Indian art and culture. There are temples and several yoga centers in Venezuela, as well as several centers founded by Indian spiritual gurus or organizations.
