Rajnath Singh also applauded the Indian Navy for maintaining a high operational pace

Commending the Indian Navy for its recent investments in indigenization and innovation, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has urged the Naval Commanders to maintain focus on the development of futuristic capabilities for successfully addressing emerging challenges in the Maritime Domain.

Interacting with the senior leadership of the Indian military at the conclusion of the bi-annual conference of Naval Commanders on Thursday, he also applauded the Indian Navy for maintaining a high operational pace in support of securing the seas for economic and national security.

Furthermore, he commended the Navy for the successful commissioning of INS Vikrant, India's first indigenously designed and built aircraft carrier, as well as the adoption of a new naval ensign shedding vestigial linkages to our colonial past.

In line with the Defence Minister's views, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan reaffirmed the importance of operational readiness, Aatmanirbharta, and further integrating the armed forces in order to jointly meet India's national security requirements.

Later, the Naval Commanders also interacted with the Chief of Army Staff, the Chief of Air Force Staff and the Chief of Integrated Defence Staff to the Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee (CISC). They discussed ways to further improve the synergy and readiness of the Tri-Services while taking into account the current security environment.

According to the official press release from the Ministry of Defence, the Conference gave the Naval Commanders a chance to reflect on crucial maritime issues at the military strategic level.

Under the aegis of the conference, the Naval Commanders also engaged in discussions about strategic issues with other "Think Tanks."
