The country reported 10,549 new cases in the last 24 hours

With the administration of 83,88,824 Covid-19 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded the 1.2 billion mark.

As per provisional reports till 7 am on Friday, 1,20,27,03,659 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine have been administered in the country.

This has been achieved through 1,24,56,121 sessions, said the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The recovery of 9,868 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) to 3,39,77,830.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.33% which is highest since March 2020.

Sustained and collaborative efforts by the Centre and the States/UTs continue the trend of less than 50,000 Daily New Cases that is being reported for 152 consecutive days now, the ministry said.

With 10,549 new cases being reported in the last 24 hours, India’s active caseload now stands at 1,10,133.

Active cases constitute 0.32% of the country's total positive cases, which is thr lowest since March 2020.

The last 24 hours saw a total of 11,81,246 tests being conducted. India has so far conducted over 63.71 crore (63,71,06,009) cumulative tests.


While testing capacity has been enhanced across the country, Weekly Positivity Rate at 0.89% remains less than 1% for the last 12 days now.

The Daily Positivity Rate is reported to be 0.89%.

This has remained below 2% for last 53 days and below 3% for 88 consecutive days now.
