The leaders took stock of the state of bilateral relations and exchanged views on developments in the region

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the sidelines of COP26 in Glasgow and reviewed bilateral relations while exchanging views on regional development, the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement.

They expressed satisfaction on the cooperation during the pandemic times including mutual recognition of COVID vaccination certificates by both countries, it stated.

According to the statement, Prime Minister Modi thanked President Zelenskyy for his humanitarian gesture of supplying oxygen concentrators to India during the second phase of COVID pandemic earlier this year.

The two leaders positively assessed the strong people to people connect between the two countries, especially the large number of Indian students studying in various universities of Ukraine, it noted.

The two leaders reaffirmed their readiness to work together for further strengthening of bilateral relations, the statement informed.

India has an extensive bilateral relationship with Ukraine, spanning all spheres of cooperation.

There have also been regular interactions through Joint-Working Groups, Foreign Office Consultations, etc. in the spheres of Trade and Economic Cooperation, Science and Technology, Health care and Pharmaceuticals, Tourism, Defense, Consular matters, etc.

There is also an increasing interest and interaction in the spheres of Yoga and Ayurveda.

India and Ukraine have signed several MoUs in different spheres such as: Diplomatic relations, visa matters, consular matters, trade and commercial matters, space, science and technology and defense.
