The ship had delivered COVID relief material to Indonesia, Vietnam prior to arriving in Thailand

As part of the ongoing Mission SAGAR, INS Airavat arrived at Sattahip, Thailand with Covid relief material on Friday.

The ship is delivering 300 oxygen concentrators based on the requirement projected by the Government of Thailand in its fight against the ongoing COVID19 pandemic, said a Ministry of Defence statement.

INS Airavat has been deployed to deliver Covid relief to friendly foreign nations in South East Asia who are battling the Covid-19 pandemic under the aegis of India’s Mission SAGAR (Security and Growth for All in the Region).

In the current deployment, the ship has delivered Covid relief material to Indonesia and Vietnam prior to arriving in Thailand.

The ship has also taken an active part in India's efforts to battle Covid-19 since April this year.

Earlier, as part of Mission SAGAR, another Indian Naval Ship Savitri had arrived at Chattogram port in Bangladesh on Thursday carrying two Mobile Oxygen Plants (MOP) each with a capacity of generating 960 litres of oxygen per minute.

INS Savitri had departed Visakhapatnam on Monday with medical supplies on board for Bangladesh.
