The last 24 hours saw 38,10,554 vaccine doses being administered

India has reported less than 60,000 daily cases after 81 days, with 58,419 new cases being recorded from across the country in the last 24 hours.

Pointing out that less than 1 lakh daily new cases have been reported for 13 continuous days now, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Sunday said
India has also been witnessing a continuous fall in the active caseload.

The country’s active caseload now stands at 7,29,243 today.

The health ministry attributed this trend to sustained and collaborative efforts by the Centre and the States and Union Territories.

A net decline of 30,776 has been witnessed in the last 24 hours and active cases are now only 2.44% of the country's total positive cases.

India’s daily recoveries continue to outnumber the Daily New Cases for 38 consecutive days now. According to the ministry, 87,619 recoveries were registered in the last 24 hours.

This means that over 29 thousand (29,200) more recoveries were reported during the last 24 hours as compared to the daily new cases.

Meanwhile, a total of 18,11,446tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. Cumulatively, India has conducted over 39.10 crore or 391 million (39,10,19,083) tests so far.

Another positive trend is a continued decline in weekly case positivity which is currently at 3.43%. The daily positivity rate stands at 3.22% on Sunday. It has remained less than 5% for 13 consecutive days now.

When it comes to vaccination, 27,66,93,572 (over 276 million) vaccine doses have been administered through 37,91,686 sessions, as per the provisional report till 7 am on Sunday. The last 24 hours saw 38,10,554 vaccine doses being administered.
