India’s daily recoveries continued to outnumber the daily new cases for the 24th consecutive day

India has reported 1,14,460 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the lowest number in the last two months.

With this, the country has recorded less than 2 lakh daily new cases for 10 continuous days now, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said while releasing the latest official data on Sunday morning.

In keeping with the continuing trend, the country’s active caseload has fallen below below 15 lakh-mark and stands at 14,77,799 today. The caseload has now been below 20 lakhs for six successive days.

A net decline of 77,449 was witnessed in the last 24 hours and active cases are now only 5.13%of the country's total Positive Cases.

At the same time, India’s daily recoveries continued to outnumber the daily new cases for the 24th consecutive day. The last 24 hours saw 1,89,232 recoveries being registered. This was 74,772 more than the new cases registered during the same period.

The health ministry said this is "a result of collaborative and sustained efforts by the Centre and States/UTs".

Meanwhile, a total of 20,36,311 tests were conducted across the country in the last 24 hours in the country. Cumulatively, India has conducted over 36.4 crore (36,47,46,522) tests so far.

The weekly case positivity rate continues to decline and is currently at 6.54% while the Daily Positivity rate stands at 5.62% today. It has remained less than 10% for 13 consecutive days now.

In another significant landmark, the cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country has exceeded 23 crore (230 million).

The last 24 hours saw 33,53,539 vaccine doses being administered.

The total number of vaccine doses given so far now stands at 23,13,22,417, as per the provisional report till 7 am today.
